They don't have to worry about your motives.

Leaders have to deal simultaneously with people issues and business issues, and they need to be able to do both effectively. That's an art. As you work to develop people, maintain a relational approach, valuing them and adding value to them. At the same time, do what you must to achieve a good bottom line.

If the price is an issue, then realize that there is also a price to be paid for lack of commitment. If you fail to develop proper commitment, what will you forfeit? On the other hand, if you pay the price, what benefit will you gain?

You can't make the other fellow feel important in your presence if you secretly feel that he is a nobody.
