“Blessed are they whose lawless acts are forgiven, whose sins are covered.

in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more.”

Forgiveness is the key which unlocks the door of resentment and the handcuffs of hatred. It breaks the chains of bitterness and the shackles of selfishness. The forgiveness of Jesus not only takes away our sins, it makes them as if they had never been.

When you forgive someone, you slice away the wrong from the person who did it. You disengage that person from his hurtful act.

for the resulting chasms of ungrace there is only one remedy: the frail rope-bridge of forgiveness

I can't hold against this person more than what you chose not to hold against me." You have the power, because of the cross, to say, "I forgive you.

We forgive those who harmed us. And then, with an open heart, we simply as Jesus to heal us.
