The only way our faith can strengthen is if we use it.

There can be no faith without risk.

If you once love Him, you will study to please Him.

To kill sin is the work of living men; where men are dead (as all unbelievers, the best of them, are dead), sin is alive, and will live" (chapter 7). Oh, the pastoral insights that emerge from Owen! As here: If you are fighting sin, you are alive. Take heart.

There have been men before now who got so interested in proving the existence of God that they came to care nothing for God Himself. As if the Good Lord had nothing better to do than exist!

An ordinary woman who makes herself available to an extraordinary God can do amazing things for God.

One who trusts God at all costs will be rewarded at all costs.
