Many people want guidance from God, but they don't want to lay aside other things in order to hear His voice. But David narrowed down everything he wanted to just one thing—more of God all the days of his life. I believe the only thing that truly satisfies the longing within us is to know God more intimately today than we did yesterday.

No matter what we own, we will not be happy if doing God's will is not a priority in our lives.

Anyone who tries to keep all the people happy all the time will never fulfill their destiny.

I strongly encourage you to be careful not to let anything become more important to you than it should be. Keep God first so He can bless you with other things you desire.

I don't believe God wants us to always be doing without. After all, He is the God of "more than enough," not just "barely get by," or "do without.

If I continue trying to do what only God can do, I will make myself miserable.

I could not figure out why I wasn't able to enjoy much of anything in life until God revealed to me I was killing my joy with complication. For years, I prayed God would change the people and circumstances around me when, in reality, He wanted to change me and my approach to life. He wanted me to simplify so, ultimately, He could be glorified.

We must remember that people are not our source - God is.

Matthew 6:34 suggested that we not worry about tomorrow because each day will have sufficient trouble of its own.

We should want Him more than anything. If we seek Him first, then all other things will be added to our lives.

God abundantly supplies all my needs; I will get out of debt; the Lord takes pleasure in my prosperity; God gives me favor; He opens right doors for me and closes wrong ones; God wants to bless me, and I'm willing to take it.

In our world today most people compromise rather than take a stand for what is right. Jesus said we would be persecuted for righteousness' sake, and most people are not up for that. Jesus also promised a reward; however, the majority of people want reward without commitment. If we do what God has asked us to do, we will get what He promised us we could have.
