Today we have to learn all over again that love for the sinner and love for the person who has been harmed are correctly balanced if I punish the sinner in the form that is possible and appropriate.

Forgiving the past means remembering the love there, and releasing all the rest as the illusion that it really was.

Become more accepting. With every interaction, surrender any tendency to judge another person. Pray for a more accepting heart.

Unforgiveness denies the victim the possibility of parole and leaves them stuck in the prison of what was, incarcerating them in their trauma and relinquishing the chance to escape beyond the pain.

To be unforgiving is like to drink poison and wait for someone else to die!!

The physical power of real love is staggering, because real forgiveness is staggering...

What does matter is whether or not we take offense when we think we've been wronged, regardless of who we think we are or what costume we're wearing.

letting go is something you do, not just talk about. Talking about forgiving changes nothing. Doing it changes everything, not just in you, but somehow in those around you. We are not healed alone.

When we are broken like Jesus, we are able to forgive people, truly forgive them, and desire no revenge. A good example of this is found in the life of Joseph. When his brothers came to him desperate in the time of famine, he had every reason to turn them away and let them die. But he didn't. He said, "My brothers, don't be afraid, the Lord sent me here for you" (see Genesis 45:5).

Someone once said that you don't hold a grudge. It holds you. Holding a grudge is self-inflicted pain. Consequently, bitterness doesn't imprison those who hurt you. It imprisons you.
