What we are looking for is what is looking.

Tear your heart away from everything else; then seek God and you will surely find him.

God has created several doors which open onto truth. He opens them to all those who knock on them with the hand of faith.

From that heart come the words, "Do you love me?" Knowing the heart of Jesus and loving him are the same thing. The knowledge of Jesus' heart is a knowledge of the heart.

I know that the fact that I am always searching for God, always struggling to discover the fullness of Love, always yearning for the complete truth, tells me that I have already been given a taste of God, of Love and of Truth. I can only look for something that I have, to some degree, already found. How can I search for beauty and truth unless that beauty and truth are already known to me in the depth of my heart?

What are these pines & these birds about? What is this pond a-doing? I must know a little more.

We must know before we can love. In order to know God, we must often think of Him; and when we come to love Him, we shall then also think of Him often, for our heart will be with our treasure.

In the end, no one can seek God unless he has already begun to find him.

There is in every intellect a natural exigency for a true concept of God: we are born with the thirst to know and to see Him, and therefore it cannot be otherwise.

For although he is right with us and in and out of us and all through us, we have to go on journeys to find Him.

We live as spiritual men when we live as men seeking God.

There are joys which long to be ours. God sends ten thousands truths, which come about us like birds seeking inlet; but we are shut up to them, and so they bring us nothing, but sit and sing awhile upon the roof, and then fly away.
