Remember the biblical principle of idolatry, desire for a good thing becomes a bad thing when that desire becomes a ruling thing.

The brokenness around you affects you in different ways at different times. .................... . At every point and every moment, your life is messier and more complicated than it really ought to be because everything is so much more difficult in such a terribly broken world. But let us also see that this world of ours is more than a broken-down house. It is a broken-down house in the process of being restored.

You don't have to worry, because you have a Savior who has invaded your life with his grace and has made you the place where he dwells.

He is not only your indwelling Savior, he is your reigning King. He does in you what you could not do for yourself and he does outside of you what you have no power or authority to do.

It was humbling to admit that I wasn't living the simple life because I was spiritually committed to it. I was living the simple life because I was poor.

We simply weren't constructed to live only for ourselves. We were placed on earth to be part of something bigger than the narrow borders of our own survival and our own little definition of happiness.
